LOUISIANA-PACIFIC OFFERS ENGINEERED WOOD I-JOISTS, LVL, RIM BOARD
Portland, OR - Louisiana-Pacific Corporation offers several series of I-joists, laminated veneer lumber (LVL) and rim board for residential and commercial construction.
LPI® Joists and Gang-Lam? LVL are engineered to outperform solid sawn lumber by resisting shrinking, twisting, splitting, warping and crowning. Pound for pound they have more load-bearing capacity than traditional lumber.
All LPI Joists feature strong oriented strand board webs and, depending on the series, come with LVL or solid sawn flanges. Depths from 9 1/2" to 24" are available. The joists are available in a standard LPI series and a new Contractor (CTR®) series. The LPI 32 Series features a strong 2 1/2" MSR lumber flange for easier installation and vibration reduction. Depths of 9-1/2", 11-7/8", 14" and 16" are available.
Gang-Lam LVL is available deeper and longer than solid sawn lumber beams and has greater load-bearing capacity. It is ideal for beams, headers or other primary load-carrying members. By combining exterior adhesives and ultrasonically graded veneers, the problems that commonly plague solid sawn lumber beams-like shrinking, twisting, splitting, warping and crowning-are reduced. Gang-Lam is a readily available alternative to large dimensional lumber. It is offered in thicknesses of 1-1/2", 1-3/4", 3-1/2", 5-1/4" and 7", depths from 7-1/4" to 23-7/8" and lengths to 60'.
