CanExel

Innovations
When we make LP® CanExel® siding, we use our resources wisely.
Our unique production process allows us to use the whole tree, including bark, in the manufacturing of LP CanExel sidings. To do this, we lay a very fine layer of wood pulp on the surface of the board. This fine layer provides a tight surface that embosses and finishes well, while protecting the surface from bleed-through.

We collect cutting and sanding dust and burn it in our steam plant, producing energy to fuel the production process with a small percentage being recycled into new product. Process waste water along with bark and chip-wash residue are used in our composting facility to produce A-grade agricultural compost.

Finally, we use the remaining wood waste in our composting facility to produce the A-grade agricultural compost.

The results?
  • A sturdy board that finishes well, installs easily, lays flat on the wall and looks great
  • Less waste and better utilization of our natural resources
